Shepherd Communication and Security Chosen as Master Value-Added Reseller in New York State for SelectaDNA Crime-Fighting Technology

Shepherd Communication and Security (SC&S) was selected as the Master Value-Added Reseller (MVAR) in New York State for SelectaDNA forensic marking technology. The announcement was made by CSI Protect, the exclusive distributor of SelectaDNA technology in North America.

As MVAR, SC&S is responsible for the development and management of a statewide Certified Dealer network to continuously increase market share of SelectaDNA technology across New York State. SC&S is also providing all technical, sales and marketing support to Certified Dealers.

The Technology Has Produced Reductions in Crime Averaging 40% to 86%

SelectaDNA utilizes universally unique synthetic forensic ID codes to stealthily mark and detect criminals, along with irrefutably linking them to specific crime scenes. The technology has produced reductions in crime averaging 40% to 86%. It has been in use for more than a decade in thirty-plus year and is now available in the United States.

The technology’s primary application for the electronic security industry is the Criminal Tagging System (CTS). The CTS integrates with intrusion, access control and video surveillance systems, and can be activated via panic button, money, clip, remote CCTV operators or automatically with sensors.

The technology was recently endorsed by the New York State Sheriffs’ Association, which will be utilizing SelectaDNA for its Criminal Suppression Initiative (CSI). The goal of the CSI effort is to aid sheriff offices’ efforts to combat burglary, robbery, theft and unauthorized access.
